Maz Says: I've made these professional-grade oil paints my top choice. I love the texture and pigment of these paints. They are more affordable than some options but offer exceptional quality. 🎨🖌️
Zest-it LEAN Painting Medium
Zest It Lean Painting Medium is for use in the initial layers of an oil painting.
Maz Says: This is my go-to for all of my underpainting
Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits
Gamsol is the safest solvent that allows oil painters to utilise all traditional painting techniques without compromise.
Maz Says: Mixing Gamsol with Linseed oil in a 60:40 ratio (60% Linseed/40%Gamsol) You can make your own LEAN painting perfect for underpainting
Old Holland Linseed Oil
Old Holland Bleached Linseed Oil increases the fluidity and gloss of oil paints
Maz Says: Mix with Gamsol (60:40 ratio 60% linseed 40% gamsol) to make a lean painting medium suitable for underpainting, then use from the bottle for "Fat" medium in later stages of your painting
Cobra Water Mixable Oil Paints
Cobra Artist is an Artists' quality water mixable oil paint with an exceptionally high degree of pigmentation. Only the very best pigments and oils are used. During the grinding process, the paint is ground on the triple roller mill until it reaches the fineness of an artist quality.
Maz Says: I have tried WM oil paints in the past and did not like them UNTIL I tried these. Whilst painting I forgot I was even using WM paints - I do not use water to thin the paint I use the paint straight from the tube and it is rich and buttery. I only use water to clean my brushes. To thin paint I use the WM fast dry medium. This method works well for me and I have a few tutorials on my academy using these paints. I highly recommend them for people who want to try oils but do not want to use solvents.
Cobra Water Mixable Quick Drying Medium
Will reduce the drying time of Cobra Water-Mixable Oils, increase the flow and transparency, and make the paint fatter.
Maz Says: This is the only medium I have tried and I like it. I add a touch of water to the medium (in a separate container) and use that with a liner brush this makes the paint inky and easy to use for twigs, branches and grasses.
